Full Details

Join internationally published architectural photographer Andrew Pielage for a weekend photographing the iconic midcentury modern architecture of Palm Springs. During the 2 full days of the workshop, participants will learn advanced compositional skills, how to read light and shadow, and some of Pielage’s favorite Adobe Lightroom tools. The workshop also includes constructive photo critiques from both the instructor and fellow participants. Participants must provide their own digital camera, tripod and computer with Adobe Lightroom Classic already loaded on it. It is strongly recommended to have a basic understanding of aperture, shutter speed, ISO and Adobe Lightroom Classic.

The historic Kaptur Plaza, by renowned desert modernist architect Hugh Kaptur, is the base of operations, and field visits will help participants continue to grow in their creativity and skill at commercial and residential architectural photography for exteriors, interiors, and during sunrise, sunset and night time conditions. Workshop is limited to 10 participants to insure individual attention.

With over 20 years of experience doing what he loves – creating new and progressive ways to capture our world through the camera lens, Pielage has in recent years turned his attention to photographing the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright. Catching the attention of the FLW Foundation and impressed with his work, he became the Foundation’s lead photographer. Architecture buffs have seen many photographs of Wright’s best-known buildings over the years, but none quite like his work. Pielage’s photographs are beautiful, arresting and transformative, providing a view of FLW’s architecture as never experienced before.

This program is based on workshops that Andrew conducts at Fallingwater, Taliesen, Taliesen West and the FLW Price Tower in Bartlesville, OK. His website is andrewpielage.com
